It is essential to consider what the future might bring as no-one knows what is round the corner.

For this reason, Bromleys advises clients that it is sensible to plan for the future, to cover all eventualities. Failure to plan ahead can, in our experience, have catastrophic results. It is therefore essential that you seek advice.

We can advise you on:

  • What would happen in the event that you, through illness or otherwise, become unable to manage your affairs
  • What would happen in the event that you die

To cover both of these options, we can advise you on:

It is well known that people are living longer. However, the incidence of dementia and other debilitating illnesses is growing. You may need someone to look after your affairs for you.

As a matter of course, we advise that a Lasting Power of Attorney is completed. These cover one or both of the following areas:

  • Your property and finance
  • Your health and welfare

It is also sensible that you prepare for what happens when you die. This can save considerable pain, upset and cost for those you leave behind. We believe it is vital you should make a Will.

As part of this service we will consider with you:

  • The needs and requirements of those you leave behind
  • The size of your estate
  • The implication of inheritance tax
  • Whether or not a trust in any form is appropriate

As a firm, we have enormous experience in dealing with all of these matters. We currently hold 5000 Wills in storage for our clients, and act for approximately 90 cases for clients who are unable to manage their own affairs. John Longworth is head of the team and has been involved in the drafting of most of the recent legislation, and is one of the four Office of the Public Guardian Panel Deputies in Greater Manchester. We also hold approximately 1500 Powers of Attorney on behalf of our clients.

We are members of the Certainty National Will Register which provides the facility to register the details of your will so after your death your family can find out where it is being held.
