Kate is a Solicitor Advocate in the Child Care Team and qualified as a solicitor in 2009.
Kate’s practice is principally in the area of child care acting for children, parents and other family members within care proceedings and adoption proceedings. Kate also acts in private law proceedings relating to children, special guardianship cases, and advising parents with social services disputes. Kate is regularly instructed by guardians to represent the interests of children in court.
Kate became one of the youngest solicitors in the UK to attain Higher Rights Qualification in 2012. This Higher Courts Qualification enables her to represent clients even in the most senior of courts. Kate has been an accredited member of the Law Society Children Accreditation Scheme since 2014.
Kate also has expertise in the field of domestic abuse and forced marriage protection cases and her work in this field, along with achieving Higher Rights, was recognised by the receipt of a Highly Commended Young Lawyer of the Year award in 2013.
Kate is also a member of Resolution and Child Concern.
