Covid-19 Employment Law Changes from 6 April 2020

In addition to all the recent changes as a result of the Covid19 pandemic, there will be additional changes taking effect from 6 April 2020. Some if the key changes can be summarised as follows:-

National Minimum Wage

The new rates will be:-

25 and Over  £8.72

21 to 24  £8.20

18 to 20  £6.45

Apprentice £4.15

However, an employer may not be required to pay National Minimum Wage to a Furloughed employee, provided that the requirements of the scheme are complied with. Please contact a member of our team for further guidance.
