Increase to damages for Discrimination Claims.
With effect from 6 April 2020, there will be an increase to the damages awarded by the Employment Tribunal for a successful discrimination claim.
Damages are based on injury to feelings and are banded subject to the severity of the claim.
The new bands are:-
Lower Band: £900 – £9,000
Middle Band: £9,000 – £27,000
Upper Band: £27,000 – £45,000 (with the possibility of the most serious cases exceeding £45,000)
