New practice note and comparison table for Lease Code 2020
In February, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) published the Code for Leasing Business Premises, England and Wales (Lease Code 2020) as a professional statement. The Lease Code 2020 is effective from 1 September.
It supersedes the Lease Code 2007 and aims to improve the quality and fairness of negotiations on business lease terms and to promote the issue of comprehensive heads of terms to make the legal drafting process more efficient.
