Who am I?
Clare Parrott is a Solicitor in the Wills and Probate Department. Clare attained a degree in English from the University of Leeds and then completed two postgraduate qualifications including the Legal Practice Course the following a two year training contract qualified as a solicitor in December 1997.
How can I help you?
I specialise now in the areas of Wills, Planning for the future, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate. I deal with both straightforward and more complex wills involving Trust structures. I have dealt with complex estates including those passing according to the Law of Intestacy and estates involving issues surrounding inheritance tax.
My experience also includes dealing with Inheritance Act claims both on behalf of individuals who have been excluded from a Will and on behalf of the beneficiaries of the estate in the defence of such claims. I have also acted on behalf of executors of estates where the Will has been challenged and contested.
The areas of work I have specialised in requires a sensitive but pro-active approach ; my skills involve dealing with complex, often fragile family relationships with a professional but empathetic approach. I have also dealt with applications for Deputyship to the Court of Protection. For over 15 years I specialised in Personal Injury and Occupational Disease Litigation acting on behalf of Claimants securing awards for damages.
