The President of the Employment Tribunal has announced significant changes in the way which hearings will be conducted in light of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
From Monday 23 March 2020 all in-person hearings (which is a hearing where parties are expected to be in attendance) at the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeals Tribunal will be converted to a telephone case management hearing. Unless directed otherwise, the purpose of the case management hearing is for the parties to discuss how best to proceed with the hearing. The direction will even extend to those hearings which are already in progress as at 23 March 2020.
